Nocturne LLC

Nocturne will be closed Friday, January 30 to join a peaceful nationwide economic blackout in solidarity with our community at large. ⚔️❤️🔥 We want to say this plainly: small businesses will feel this. We will feel this. That is the point. A protest that costs nothing changes nothing. Change requires sacrifice, and we’d rather take a hit than pretend this current political landscape is normal or acceptable. Salem is a place of makers and storytellers, built on a history that still echoes. This beautiful city knows what it looks like when fear is given authority, when scapegoats are chosen, and when a community is pushed to trade humanity for witch hunts. Salem has spent generations rebuilding the narrative, choosing remembrance over repetition, and turning a legacy of accusation into a city that values the magic of creativity, inclusion, curiosity, and empathy. And right now, in real time, we are watching fear and power collide across this country. From Minneapolis to towns and cities across the U.S., we are watching communities be targeted, dehumanized, and forced to live in survival mode. People are being harmed. And worse… People are being murdered by ICE🧊 Our history doesn’t feel distant, it feels like a warning. It feels like a call to wake up. We refuse to normalize cruelty. We refuse to look away. Today, Salem is not the story people once wrote about it. It’s the story we choose to write now: a place where misfits find kin, where artists speak, where community means showing up for one another, and where inclusivity is not a tagline, it’s the foundation. The puny voices rooted in racism and visceral hatred do not define us. They never will. They are smaller than the collective heart of our country, and the wider world we still believe in. As a collective, our team, our friends, and our colleagues are standing together in community. If you’re participating, please be safe and look out for each other. If you’re not, we still ask you to lead with compassion. We’ll see you Saturday. 🖤 May we be gentle with each other, and brave when it counts.
