‘The Raven’ Obsidian Sculpture
The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe influenced this beautifully macabre Raven statue carved from real Black Obsidian. As the Raven perches on a human skull, we are left with the findings which are written within the pages of the books it rests on. A reminder that art will last forevermore, forevermore.
Obsidian is produced from lava. It is commonly found within the margins of lava flows known as obsidian flows. Obsidian is a protective stone that shields against negative energy. Given its sharpness, the stone is considered to pierce into darkness to reveal the truth itself.
