Citadel Ring With Opal in Sterling Silver

This piece was inspired by Brutalist architecture. We decided to work with deep textures and very geometric forms to create pieces that would feel bold, unique and would absolutely be a point of focus when worn.

This piece has been hand carved and cast in solid sterling silver. Each piece is hand finished with a blackened oxidation that is coated in a clear lacquer to preserve it for longer. Over time the oxidation will wear away in the highest points and stay darkest in the deeper recesses. This will make for a piece that evolves with its wearer over time.

Set with a welo opal cabochon, this piece has vivid color to contrast the oxidized metal. I wanted this piece to feel like something found in an ancient tomb. Perhaps from a futuristic civilization. 

The band is sanded smooth to a 400 grit finish, oxidized and then some surface is removed for an antique look.
