Three wishes. One prom queen celebrating at the Jersey Shore. One monster who won't stop killing until her debt is paid.
A queer feminist YA horror-slasher from Salem's own Codie Crowley — author of Here Lies a Vengeful Bitch — called "a terrifying twist on prom" by People magazine and "Thank you for the nightmares!" by USA Today bestselling author Veronica Bane.
Seven years ago, Sundae Valentine made a deal with a monster she met at the bottom of a motel pool. She didn't know the wishes had a price — or that the third wish, the one she still hasn't made, will cost her life. Now she has no choice but to return to the scene of her sun-bleached nightmares.
But there are eyes like silver coins watching from the shadows, and teeth like a rusty saw glinting in the boardwalk light. The monster is determined to collect.
ANYONE who grew up reading Christopher Pike & R.L. Stine will find themselves with a giant grin while reading Body Count. Sundae Valentine is an all encompassing badass and now I want to dye my hair bubblegum pink….
All the weird tales lore in here is so fun and your brain is actively trying to figure out how all the things are happening right along with Sundae and Lia. There are elements of this story that give OG Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie (one of my eternal favorites) and it’s all just perfect. Buy this book right now in whatever way makes sense for you to consume it!
This was a real page turner from beginning to end! Cody's first book was fantastic and this one is equally phenomenal! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for another book in the future!
