A beautiful interpretation of one of Salem, Massachusetts’ most iconic historic landmarks. This Salem Witch House art print by local artist Erin Survilas captures the unmistakable dark façade and dramatic silhouette of the Jonathan Corwin House, better known as The Witch House.

The Witch House is one of the most significant surviving landmarks connected to the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. It was the home of Judge Jonathan Corwin, a wealthy Salem merchant and magistrate who served on the Court of Oyer and Terminer during the witch trials. Today, the house stands at 310 Essex Street in Salem, Massachusetts, and is notable as the only structure still standing in Salem with direct ties to a judge involved in the 1692 trials. Its steep gables, dark exterior, and centuries-old history have made it one of the most recognizable examples of early New England architecture and an enduring symbol of Salem's complicated past.

Survilas reimagines the historic home through her own romantic, atmospheric perspective, surrounding its stark architecture with warm autumnal details and an almost storybook darkness. The result feels distinctly Salem: historic, haunting, beautiful, and just a little mysterious.

The artwork measures 8 x 10 inches and comes pre-matted in a rich black mat, making it ready to slip into your favorite frame. The dramatic black presentation complements the moody palette of the artwork beautifully and makes it an easy addition to a gallery wall, gothic home, historic New England collection, or Salem-inspired décor.
